Historic Lawrenceville Site
Montgomery County
112 acres Fee Title Ownership
The Lawrenceville Tract was protected by fee-simple donation in
1998. The McCoy Family generously donated the site due to its
historical significance to Montgomery County. The 112-acre site
provide a buffer between the Uwharrie National Forest and N.C. Highway
24/27. It also provide a buffer to the trailhead for the Uwharrie
Recreational Trail. But, perhaps most importantly, this site
contains a record of Montgomery County's past. Located within the
property is the remains of the Lawrenceville Courthouse, a historical
homeplace, and the old trading road that led to the Yadkin River.
