Located just northwest of Ophir, this LandTrust for Central North Carolina property provides public access to the Uwharrie River for canoeing, kayaking, and fishing, and preserves several threatened species of mussels in addition to a large area of riparian habitat and mature mixed forest.

Jumping Off Rock is the northernmost trailhead for the Uwharrie Trail, and overlooks Barnes Creek. There is a small pulloff that holds a couple cars just east of the Jumping Off Rock Trailhead.
6925 Pisgah Covered Bridge Rd. in Asheboro, NC
One of North Carolina’s two remaining historic covered bridges, this is an excellent spot to have a picnic or take a short stroll along a quarter-mile walking trail. The bridge was preserved through a partnership between the LandTrust for Central North Carolina, the Piedmont Land Conservancy, the North Carolina Zoo Society, and the NC Department of Transportation.

This reservoir, located in southeastern Rowan county, has excellent boating opportunities and fishing for bass, trout, crappie, sunfish, perch, and catfish. This site provides access to the reservoir with a NC Wildlife Resources Commission boat ramp.
